From a simple idea of doing a small candle fundraiser for a local school charity to beginning a startup business pouring candles in our home, we always knew we wanted to make an exceptional product with an exceptional look that would set us apart from the rest. One of the ways we accomplished that was to create an ornamental design on each of our candles with our own styled fluer-de-lis, called "The Heart of Jazz." Candle Nature, now a thriving company, still manufactures each candle, attached by hand, with our one of a kind, trade marked symbol of ..."The Heart of Jazz."
While the fleur-de-lis has appeared on countless European coats of arms over the centuries, it's particularly the French monarchy and French settlements, such as the City of New Orleans that this symbol is most prominent. The fleurs-de-lis has appeared on military insignias, logos, architectural designs, ironwork and as a religious symbol of the Trinity, to name a few. And now, a fleur-de-lis appears on every Candle Nature candle you buy.
Because Jazz is the sound that put New Orleans on the map, musically speaking ... we combined the jazzy style of music into our very own design of the fleur-de-lis. The concept and creation of the symbol of Candle Nature was designed by us, a family company, who were all born and raised in New Orleans. So if you look closely, you will see two saxophones back to back, creating a heart in the center, a keyboard across the middle, and musical notes all around. We feel like our heart is in what we do and in every candle we pour. "Candle Nature ... a unique kind of candle company!"
One reminder: After all of our candles burn down, our soy wax is easily cleaned out with warm soapy water. All of the glass jars can be recycled and reused for drinking glasses. They make a beautiful collectible set of glassware with our "Heart of Jazz" symbols on everyone. (For best results, please wash by hand only.)
